LOCATELLI’S OWNERS BRING FIRST VIRTUAL FOOD HALL TO CYPRESS AREA
HOUSTON – Click Click Chew, the second venture from Locatelli’s owners Adam and Katie Womack, is now open in Cypress. The husband and wife duo have officially launched the virtual food hall at 11910 Grant Road. Customers can place orders directly through third-party delivery app, Chownow. Click Click Chew houses four different concepts under one roof, allowing customers to order from multiple virtual restaurants with a single digital transaction. Guests can expect a unique range of dishes on each menu, all curated by award-winning chef Omar Pereney.
“We are very excited to bring a virtual food hall to the Cypress area,” said Adam Womack. “When the pandemic hit, we tried to think of ways to optimize our customer’s takeout experience and fell in love with the idea of the virtual food hall. We want to provide an easy and delicious solution for groups who can’t always agree on a dinner plan.”
After closing two Locatelli’s locations in the midst of the pandemic, Womack realized that he had extra space to utilize in his 3,000-square-foot commissary kitchen. With online food delivery on the rise (according to Statista, online food delivery is expected to grow to a 21% share of the total restaurant market by 2025), opening a virtual food hall seemed both a timely and viable option. Click Click Chew will be operating all four concepts out of that space and delivering to residents within an 8-mile radius, an area that includes neighborhoods in Cypress, Spring, Tomball, and Jersey Village. There is a small waiting area in the front of the space with high top tables for guests who prefer to pick up their meals or even enjoy a meal on-site.
Chef Omar Pereney, founder of Houston-based consulting group Culinary Matters, stepped in to help craft menus for each concept: Wing of Fire, Bailey & Buns, Tia Rita’s, and The Smoking Joint BBQ. Each menu will include a wide range of delectable, made-from-scratch dishes aimed to accommodate both large and small groups. Pereney, who has worked with a number of notable eateries, was sure to keep convenience and quality top-of-mind.
“When creating the menus, we wanted to make sure that there was something to satisfy everyone’s palate,” said Chef Omar Pereney. “The diverse selection at each concept ensures that there is something for everyone at the table.”
To supplement the food menu, there will be a selection of soft drinks, lemonade, and iced tea. Guests will be able to order from the virtual kitchen using the third-party delivery platform, Chownow. In the future, Adam and Katie Womack hope to launch their own app, allowing guests to order directly through a Click Click Chew interface. The two bring a combined 59 years of restaurant experience, having owned and operated up to four Locatelli’s locations in Tomball, Magnolia, and Cypress.
